Whatever you think about Barton his response to getting knocked back was pretty classy hoping we have a great season and being gutted he couldn't sign for us.
I always thought he'd end up playing for us at some point as we love a nutty player. I honestly think he could have been a proper cult player (I said CULT) who you hate until he actually plays for us. Bit like Bellamy.
Fuck all you tarts who didn't want him because of his antics that regularly get him in the tabloids- I think he'd have been superb entertainment on and off the pitch. 'Sports personality' is something I usually think is an oxymoron but not in Joey's case.

This is what is REALLY going on with Barton.
His agent, McKay, bought in Sakho and Payet. We need to return the favour so consider Barton but dump the idea after a fans revolt.
It is the way football works and I was told this by a friend right at the heart of the business. He said it was the same with Cuadrado at Chelsea whose agent is Lucci.
Managers will 'take a punt', knowing great players will be fed back by the agent.
